WEAR YOUR SKIN PROUD

Unusual brown, white and spotty “deformities,”
Sketched on your body by the hands of nature,
Creping quietly into your coat, and consuming the usual skin color…
A discomfort that came with constant judgments and mockery.
Criticized for your skin by ignorant people…
Experiencing constant stares and ugly looks,
Living in a life of torture
Staying with bullies like vultures.
Bearing the pain of discrimination…
Making you feel ashamed and embarrassed to be different..
The reality of your skin condition gives rise to multiple phases..
Stages of fear and isolation,
A phase of grief and anxiety..
An then an effort of trying to hide the blotches.
It brought a devastating nightmare…
That lead to loss of self esteem.

I know it’s not easy,
But have no shame.
Wear your skin proud.
See vitiligo as a normal tattoo…
A unique nature that will not put your dreams and ambitions on hold.
A skin condition that will not arouse grief and fear.
Don’t find a reason to blame,
But stay true to yourself…
Even if life plays rough,
Find truce in your discomfort.
Adopt a positive outlook,
Choose to ignore all the negativity about vitiligo
Don’t ever let yourself stumble because you are the best.
And your beauty is skin deep.
