THE HARDEST LESSON DAQUTNESS HAD TO LEARN

Oteng Onalekitso Moilwa, popularly known as Da QuTness, is the producer of the hit song “Tinto”, by William Last KRM. Life was not always sparkly for the talented producer, but he is thankful to have a supporting family. He has two older siblings. He values family over anything; his daughter means everything to him.

Da QuTness pursued a diploma in Information and Technology studies at Botho University, while growing his talent in music. Eventually, he dropped out of the programme and continued exploring the music field, while gaining more skills. He is also determined to have a well-recognised and established brand.

Some unique facts about DaQutness; he claims that he misses the days when people were not too dependent on social media. As a lover of dogs, and a believer of the famous saying: “A dog is a man’s best friend”, he stated that his spirit animal is a dog. Lastly, he mentioned how he has an irrational fear of losing his mother.

“The hardest lesson that I have learned, is that you should not depend on anyone, but believe in yourself that you can do anything which you put your mind to. Again, fun facts about me are that I am a calm and friendly person, who enjoys being around people,” he explained. Giving more details about his career, he expressed, “I am proud of myself. I never thought that I would produce a piece that could shake the world. It showed me that I have potential, and I can do much better.” Having produced the Tinto beat at beatfactoryMusiq and Djbinostouch, he further stated, “I gave Dj Lyric a done beat. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a misunderstanding. I wish them the best of luck though.”

His greatest supporter in the music industry has been DJ Bino. He paved a way for him in the industry, and taught him a number of skills. Da QuTness expressed that the music industry has numerous challenges, including not earning enough as artists and producers. However, passion and determination keeps him going.
