SNAKES IN SUITS

Poem by Katlego Sage Writes

Your face displays a smile,
But your teeth are sharp than even a knife.
There is a devils loud cry behind your giggles.
They won’t notice if they don’t study you cause you are tricky just like riddles.
You present fake righteousness, deep down you are a demon.
In you there is a leech, a parasite that preys on innocent souls to feed on.
Only a few vividly see the devil in you, your smile is just a lure.
A vision of you to others maybe tangled but to me its nowhere near blur.
You gain at the expense and pain of others.
An evil eye is what you relay to lovers.

You are a poison served in a golden cup.
And you corroded mind is always preaching hate over love.
I thought your kindness would last.
But now I feel used
Because when I think of the past,
I thought you’d never give my heart a bruise.
Why does everyone believe every word you ever said?
When people are happy why do you go on to inflict pain?
A lot of people trusted you but you hurt them instead,
And now I don’t think they will ever believe in you ever again.
Your world revolves around being fake and that’s the truth.
And your ways of life are toxic, you are a snake in a suit.
