Q: Tell me a little about yourself.

A: Well, I talk a lot. I was raised by my grand parents in a small mining town called Mhangura. I was a very quiet kid growing up and very curious. That would be when a followed my Mom to a nearby town,I sneaked into a bus and followed her .I got the beating of my life.Home name/nickname? Mutare /Koke 99

Q: Explain what you do in a few words.

A: Madd Bwoy Khaki born Shephard Munjari got introduced to reggae music by his uncles who used to listen to reggae songs as he grew up.He initially wanted to be a hip-hop artist but ended up being influenced by his youngest uncle to go the reggae route. He wrote his first song at the tender age of 17 in 1999; it was hip hop song. His cousin Rex Nhongo was starting up as a producer and encouraged him to write the lyrics in a more professional way instead of just freestyling. He also urged him to do more of a reggae infusion especially because of his extremely deep voice.As he got the hang of it, it became easier to compose songs and today he has up to 100 Songs including hits such as Runondipengesa ft Tererai Mugwadi Reggae dancehall artists such as Capleton, Bounty Killer and General Degree shaped who he is as an artist today.Madd Bwoy Khaki believes in following one’s passion no matter what the odds are and says as an artist he is always growing.

A: 1999

Q: What is the one thing you hate about the music industry??

A: Hate is a strong word, I do not like anyone who takes advantage of Artists

Q: Who Are Your Biggest Influences?

A: Bounty Killer and Capleton

Q: What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned?

A: I remember this one time I ran away from home ,I learnt that its not always greener on the other side

Q: What is an interesting fact about you?

A: I was once a professional soccer player

Q: Give us some insight on your music

A: I have released a lot of singles to date

• Nah stop dj : Produced by Jusa Dementor this is my latest master piece, exhibiting my djaying skills

• Run de place: On the half a bread riddim which featured the like Bay c from TOK

• Runondipengesa: My first ever song to go on the Zimbabwean music chats was a big hit back then and it features Tererai

• Usipo: Love reggae nice mellow song which I released last year

• Rules and laws: Discuses the dangers of not following lockdown rules and the consequences.

Q: What memorable responses have you had to your work?

A: When I sang at a show and the organizer asked me not to lip-sync next time he though I was playing a cd

Q: What are your biggest goals?

A: To get a grammy
