Who is Precious Gondwe
Precious Gondwe is a highly qualified and multi-award-winning pan-African lawyer. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of South Africa and is currently a candidate for an LLM in Corporate Law.
Her inspirations
Precious was mostly inspired by her family who was not rich but supportive and her father did his best to ensure they had the best schooling. Her selfless father sacrifices stimulated her to work hard and pursue her dreams. Gondwe never dozed in chasing her dreams despite her background until she finally fulfilled her goals and that brought a smile in her face as a confirmation of a job well done. Precious is currently a true inspiration to others and a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and determination.
Professional Experience
Gondwe has a diverse range of work experience in both the public and private sectors. She has served as the board secretary for the Mmegi Newspaper & Gazette, where she was responsible for scheduling board meetings and drafting board resolutions and shareholder agreements. She also provided legal advice on commercial, corporate, and corporate governance matters.
Gondwe has also worked as a junior partner and head of litigation at Lerumo Mogobe Legal Practitioners, where she handled litigation, conveyancing, and notarial services, as well as providing general legal and advisory services. In addition, she has worked as a professional support lawyer at Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP and John Fowlers Solicitors LLP in the UK, providing legal and administrative support in divorce, child care, and custody cases, as well as financial and property matters.
Currently, Gondwe is the founding partner and CEO of Precious & Partners, a pan-African private legal firm that specializes in corporate law practice, general litigation, debt recoveries, conveyancing, notarial services, and company secretarial services. She is also a member of the board of advisers at the Conflict and Forced Migration Research Institute in South Africa, the CEO of Precious Allure, and the president of Pan African Game Changers.
Challenges and breakthrough
Gondwe’s rise to success has not been without challenges. She grew up in a rural area and had to walk 12 kilometers to and from school each day, while staying with her grandmother who struggled to provide for her family. Gondwe took care of her siblings at a young age and realized the importance of self-reliance and determination. Despite facing many challenges in her personal and professional life, Gondwe remains determined and resilient, refusing to let obstacles stand in her way.
Accomplishments And Awards
Gondwe’s dedication and hard work have not gone unrecognized. She has been named in the Top 30 Most Influential Female Lawyers in Africa and represents Botswana as a lawyer and law firm founder in the region. Furthermore, she is admitted to practice as a conveyance and notary public in the Republic of Botswana and is a candidate with the Solicitors Regulation Authority in the UK for admission as a solicitor.
The multi-award winning lawyer was ranked on top five Southern African Women in leadership. In the year 2020 precious and partners was awarded top 10 category of Southern African Women in leadership by Trillblazers. Moreover, she was awarded a Humanitarian award by the Young Boss Media New York in the same year. In addition to her hard earned awards Gondwe was again honored as a Pan African leader and social entrepreneur of the year 2021 and sat on the board of Pembary lifestyle groups and she couldn’t be more proud about her success and achievements.
