INFINITELY INFLUENCING PHOTOGRAPHY

Lehlohonolo Tekane (Infinite) the director of Infinite Influence is a 26-year-old emerging photographer with experience in the field of medical research. He is passionate about photography and people.

His passion for photography began as an adolescent while visiting his sister at her apartment along the Vaal River. She excitedly entrusted her new camera into his hands. Little did they both know that it would be a destiny defining moment for him. With nature at his disposal, he explored the various angles and perspectives. Tekane‘s expedition revealed his desire to capture the beauty of the fish in the pond, the birds in the trees and in those moments, he appreciated photography as an art. {I’d like to think of it as; “love at first touch”?} Although he liked taking pictures, he treated every opportunity to use the camera with great seriousness especially family events, where he became the designated cameraman.

Hobby

At first, photography was a hobby that he was able to maintain using his phone. He and his friends were always artistically inclined. Although there were other forms of art, photography became the more prominent art in his life. Tekane used his sister’s camera more frequently and used it as an outlet from which he drew his happiness. As his subjects and perspectives expanded his focus did too. He was encouraged by the reviews he would receive as well as the disbelief that overwhelmed him when looking at the final product.

Professional

It was only in 2020 that he took his work seriously enough to start the brand and the company which is growing. Although he’s been at it for years, he considers himself a beginner. However, some of his work says he’s a lot more than that. Lehlohonolo Tekane is yet to discover his niche, for this reason he depicts everything he can capture. He enjoys landscaping however urban photography remains his favorite.

He defined Urban Photography as a “City/urban style, combining a baggy, young and vibrant look.” I suppose it is fitting for the generation born in the 2000’s and many may know it as “steeze”.

His most memorable work to-date was taken in Aug-Sep 2020. Wherein he captured his friend who provided a serious yet completely relaxed vibe/ambiance for them to both connect explore the dimensions and angles which he referred to as; ”Crazy”. He feeds off the subject’s good energy which he channels through the camera.
