HT TAUTONA TALKS CAREER, MARRIAGE AND INDUSTRY

Kelebogile Mabua, who is commonly known by the name “HT Tautona”, gave us insight of his inspiring life as a music artist.

Kelebogile is a born and raised Maun citizen. The 37-year-old artist grew up in a family of eight, and was raised by a single mother. As the second born amongst his siblings, he believes that his family has taught him many life principles which he cherishes up to today.

HT Tautona explained music as a composition of instruments and vocals to create a certain sound. “I like it when instruments are blended with Poetry,” he expanded. His older brother who was also into music, cultivated the love that he has for it. “Before I was a writer, my brother influenced the kind of music that I listened to, as early as my primary school days,” he stated.

The talented artist is not only passionate about music. He is also a qualified Engineer, working as a Telecommunications Engineer. Furthermore, he runs an event organising company. He is currently on a musical break to focus on personal matters and family. However, he does not rule out any possibilities of coming up with a project soon, because he has numerous recorded songs.

Taking us on a journey of his personal life, Kelebogile has been married for ten years. His tenth anniversary was celebrated on 10 July 2020. He also described his daughter as the most important person in his life. “She was a blessing in my life,” he said. “She was born when I was young, but she helped me to grow as a man, and father; she gave me a good reason to keep working diligently in every area in my life.”

He expressed how the music industry has a number of challenges. Despite its ups and downs, HT Tauntona encouraged artists to stay focused and persistent. He also mentioned that to keep a peace of mind and stay focused, he stays away from the “beefs” of the industry. In conclusion, his main goal is to inspire people through his music.
