Who Is Dintleonthetrack?
Dintle Balole, popularly known as “Dintleonthetrack” in the music spaces is a 20-year-old Producer, Artist, Songwriter and Live Performer from Oodi but based in Gaborone, Botswana. Dintle’s unique name was inspired by guys he used to look up to back in the days. Guys like “London On The Track” and “Young Chop On The Beat”. He stated that his name underwent a several changes before it became what it is today.
The Inception
Dintle joined the music industry in late 2012 as a DJ and transitioned into a producer in 2014. He used to record music back then but didn’t sing. Before he could start releasing songs, Dintle would record a lot of music. He only shared with his close friends because he lacked confidence. “I remember ni**as like Teddy West kept pushing and encouraging me to drop songs. But I didn’t even want to because people only knew me then as a Producer. Not as an artist.” Dintle said. It was only in 2018 when he spread his wings professionally. He joined the industry as a recording artist and became Dintleonthetrack.
The Breakthrough
He said that “Badmon Ting” is the song that gave him exposure. And the other hit was “Other ni**as” which he produced featuring IGNOR3D. Dintle has more than seven projects released; No sleep EP, Elevation Mixtape, Colour black EP, Corrupted Files EP, Elevation II, Road to Elevation III EP (which was a double single for his fans), the Hits Collection Compilation, Hit Double single, Bakae Double Single, Hard Thought EP, and Days Before Elevation EP.
Collaborations
He has worked with over 20 artists locally. The likes of; ATI, Veezo View, Ban-T, Leitse, WhySo, Teddy West, Shaba Stele, Jack Monster to mention a few. Among the musicians he’d like to work with in future, from Botswana, were Han-C, Motlha, Forbes, Maxy KhoiSan, Charma Gal, and from South Africa, Flame, The Big Hash, and Blacky. Internationally, he said he would love to work with Tory Lanez, Justin Bieber, Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, and Drake.
How Dintleonthetrack Stays Consistent
Dintle‘s way of staying consistent and ahead in this field is he always downplays everything. He pushes himself, remains humble and is determined. “I never tell myself that I’m the best or that I’m in a comfortable place even when I know I’m doing good sometimes. That’s what keeps me going.” To spice up his music, Dintle always ensures that everything he creates doesn’t sound like another artist’s work. Even though he draws inspiration from artists like Tory Lanez, Justin Bieber, and Travis Scott, he stated that it’s important that he stays authentic. He adds his own elements such as the log drum and changes his delivery of the songs.
Themes
Dintle makes music about real life situations; everything that happens around him, his friends & occasionally about strangers. Dintleonthetrack said he uses any platform to market his music including his social media accounts. He expressed how effective the use of these platforms is and how much they’ve contributed to who he is and where he is in present day.
