CRAYON – INTROSPECTION

Toro “CrayOn” Tseleng has been working on a tape titled ‘Introspection’ since early this year, as a challenge to himself. He has always wanted to release a project fully created and engineered by himself, and Introspection was his opportunity to do exactly that. The project is basically a deep dive into his thoughts as an artist and as a person.

CrayOn would like the tape to reflect his “goofy” side, also carrying forth the emotion he feels when he feels troubled or unhappy. He found it to be a learning curve, because the main obstacle was the fact that he had to produce and engineer most of the tracks himself. Toro thus describes himself as self-taught and believes that it is quite frustrating trying to get the quality industry sound when you have always had people doing it for you.

Hence, the road to Introspection was born. He opened up to the world and showcased his growth as a producer and an artist, so as to try to diversify his sound, as well as to include his style in the genres he enjoys.

All three tracks in this project were executively engineered by CrayOn, under the alias “m o + a k o”. The beats were produced by people he looks up to for growth and inspiration, being DJ TH and Chu Beats.

This is only the first chapter of the Introspection story, as Toro hopes that people will see it for what it is, and just enjoy the music. On that account, he is on a journey of self-discovery in creating new sound.
