CALZADO ANIM – LATE NIGHT FEATURING FOURFORTYFOUR
It’s not often that you stumble across an unfamiliar artist with a sound so fresh and distinctive. You feel driven to stop everything you’re doing and listen. That is exactly what happened when a mutual Facebook friend shared Calzado Anim‘s new song “Late Night“. Calzado is a recoding artist, producer, and composer.
‘Late night‘ is a perfect blend of brooding vocals layered over an ethereal but upbeat trap instrumental. It was produced by Calzado and another talented Botswana based musician, AbTheActvist. Calzado Anim and FOURFORTYFOUR‘s mutual preference for the night-time is described in the song. All while detailing their sexual prowess and fascination with an highly desirable female. FOURFORTYFOUR takes this approach a step further, and not only addresses this femme fatale, but also intimidates his opps (opposition). He paints a vivid picture of his presumably illicit lifestyle, complete with marijuana and altercations with the police.
Lastly, this is a hype song with some delicate moments. It should be a great addition to your morning playlist, especially if you need to get yourself pumped up for the day. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Calzado Anim and FOURFORTYFOUR’s music. I am looking forward to hearing more from them in the future.
