BOTSWANA’S FATHER OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Maatla Hendry Kebautlwetse, a.k.a Maatla Kebs, is a vibrant photographer who was born in Orapa and raised in Lobatse.
Maatla‘s photography journey began in 2018 while he has still in high school. “I was inspired by a gentleman from a wildlife photography section,” he explained. “He goes by the name of David Yarrow, and I had to work hard to be like him,” he continued. The Maun based photographer began learning photography on YouTube, and is still exploring many factors on the mentioned platform.
He uses different gears in the field with his 5Dmark camera, and prefers 50mm STM lens for portrait photography, as well as 24mm for landscapes. Maatla‘s dream is to end up in a wildlife photography section, which is why he is working diligently to save enough funds so as to buy improved gear. Caron M. Moloi, is the Editor-in-Chief of Africa’s Very Own Magazine. Caron is a young editor born and raised in Francistown. She is currently a student at the University of Botswana.
The Editor describes herself as a self-motivated person, because she believes that everything we do begins in our minds. According to her, a positive mindset yields positive results. Maverick Kabelo is the founder and editorial director of Africa’s Very Own Magazine. Kabelo is a business student, digital media enthusiast/entrepreneur, creative, writer and content creator. He started writing when he was just 16 after founding the magazine on Facebook.
