Q and A Session

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in music?

It’s incredible how my journey into the music industry was shaped by various influences. My father, a skilled guitarist and professional musician, played a significant role in sparking my passion for music during my childhood. Additionally, during my high school days at Lord Malvern High School, Waterfalls Harare, I started freestyling and rap battling classmates, which eventually led me to the studio. The positive reception and encouragement from my peers fueled my determination, making me realize I was born for this.

2. You used to release music and then disappeared for a few years. Could you shed some light on what happened during that period?

After three successful years in the music scene, I faced challenges, including the impact of COVID-19 and conflicts with my parents over my choice of pursuing music instead of traditional academics. This disagreement led to my eviction from home, leaving me stranded and disconnected from the world. Amidst these struggles, I also faced cyber attacks on my social media accounts, leading to a prolonged absence. Despite these setbacks, my passion for music never wavered.

3. What was your creative process like when you were actively making music before your hiatus?

I had a home studio where I spent countless hours crafting music. There was no specific formula; creativity flowed naturally. Whether I was making beats or freestyling entire songs, I was consistent, releasing music every couple of weeks. My dedication and consistency were the key elements of my creative process.

4. During your time in the music industry, you had conflicts with an artist named Dintleonthetrack. Could you elaborate on what led to this feud and its impact on your personal life and music career?

The feud with Dintle started as a rivalry but escalated quickly due to online provocations and fan involvement. It became a significant issue, affecting my reputation and mental health. Despite the challenges, I persevered, standing up for my brand and passion for music. This experience, although difficult, garnered respect from some and showcased my resilience.

5. How did you overcome the challenges and setbacks you faced during your break and the feuds with Dintle?

I made peace with Dintle and took some time offline to rebuild myself mentally and emotionally. This period of retreat was crucial in overcoming my struggles. By focusing on self-improvement, I managed to regain my confidence and determination to continue my musical journey.

6. What can your fans expect from your music now?

I have been working tirelessly on enhancing my skills and exploring diverse musical genres. I have exciting new sounds in store, which will not only captivate Botswana but also make a significant impact internationally. Brace yourselves, as my upcoming music is set to shake the world.

7. How do you handle criticism and negativity in the industry, and do you believe these experiences have shaped you as an artist and helped you grow?

Criticism and negativity have motivated me to prove my worth in the industry. While these experiences have posed challenges, they have also fueled my growth as an artist. Adversity has strengthened my determination and pushed me to become a better person and artist.

8. Are there specific goals or milestones you hope to achieve in your music career, and how do you plan on accomplishing them?

I aspire to achieve unprecedented success in the music industry. My goals include winning prestigious awards like Yamas, SAHHAs, SAMAs, MAMAs, BETs, Grammies, and more. I want to inspire the next generation of musicians in Botswana and demonstrate the value of music as a source of revenue for the country. Through hard work and dedication, I plan to set new standards and make a lasting impact on the global music scene.

9. What advice or words of wisdom do you have for aspiring musicians facing challenges in the industry?

Keep pushing forward, even when faced with obstacles. Challenges are meant to shape you into a stronger, more resilient individual. Learn from them and use the pressure to transform into a diamond. If artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Nasty C can achieve greatness, so can you. Embrace the difficulties, settle disputes healthily, and never underestimate your potential.

10. Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with your fans, supporters, or anyone interested in your music?

I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support from my fans. Your belief in my journey keeps me going.
