Africa’s Very Own Magazine is a digital publication that celebrates African excellence and innovation. We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Writer to lead a 3 to 6-month Writing Internship program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in teaching and mentoring a team of interns on the craft of writing, including research, reporting, editing, and story development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor a team of writing interns
• Provide guidance on the writing process, including research, reporting, and editing
• Lead workshops and training sessions on various writing techniques and styles
• Review and provide feedback on intern’s work
• Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans
• Ensure that all program goals and objectives are met
• Provide guidance to interns on how to build their portfolio

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in media, journalism, English, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a writer/journalist
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience leading workshops or training sessions
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Passion for teaching and mentoring young writers
• Must have personal computer

Salary & Benefits:

Salary range: BWP1200 – BWP2000
